San Dieguito Lagoon Area Monthly Bird Survey for June 2013
posted 06/16/13

We saw 77 species in June including a Pink-footed Shearwater, which is a new species for the survey. So the total for all the counts since January, 2010 is 217 species.

The Pink-footed Shearwater breeds on the Juan Fernández Islands and Mocha Island off central Chile and disperses northward to wintering areas (during our summer) in the eastern North Pacific Ocean.
